Explore my work through the decades
In the past, my work reflected the social upheaval of the 1970’s to the surreal 80’s. My work in the 70’s is influenced by RB Kitaj, David Hockney and Dianne Arbus. The 80’s were about surreal psychological spaces and color. In the 1990’s my art was energized by my experiences living in Florence, Italy, at the Villa Corsi Salviati. I finished my Masters in painting there through the University of Michigan. I then moved on to figurative urban street art. I am still influenced by Italian painter, Caravaggio. My Current work is all about the reflective properties of water – as you will see lots of while browsing this site. Thanks for visiting – Kristin Hermanson
